This large format illustration was based on the work Ars Amatoria (lat. art of love), written by the roman poet Publius Ovidius Naso in 1.BC. The first two volumes of this work were dedicated to men, the third volume to women. In Ars Amatoria Ovid advices his readers on how to tackle three tasks: how do I find someone to fall in love with? How can I make my them fall in love with me? And finally how to can I make love last? The illustration shows the story of a man and a woman, who follow Ovid's advice in the search of happiness.
